2017-2018 Folkstyle Registration/Practice

The 2017-2018 Folkstyle wrestling season is quickly approaching!

Registration can be done via the Community Education website or on site on Tuesday, November 28th.

https://isd252.cr3.rschooltoday.com/public/home/

Sign ups will be held on Tuesday, November 28th, from 5:30 to 6:00 pm for Pre-K – 1st Grade and from 6:30 to 7:00 for 2nd – 6th. We will be located in the hallway outside the wrestling room at CF High School.

There will be a swap meet at sign up. If you have or are looking for equipment, please bring it along. A parents meeting will follow each sign up session to answer any questions parents/guardians may have.

The fee for Mat Rats is $40 plus a $6 Community Ed fee for insurance. USA Wrestling cards are also available for purchase for $30. These cards allow wrestlers to qualify for the state wrestling meets but are not necessary for team or open tournaments.

Additionally there is a fully refundable family activity fee of $50. This fee will be returned to you after family participation in the club’s activities during the season. We are looking for each family to help at various times, including: tournaments and fundraising.

Please prepare 2 checks for sign up. Both checks can be made out to MAT RATS.
1) $46 for Mat Rats membership or $76 for USA Wrestling card and Mat Rats membership.
2) $50 for the family activity fee (if multiple children, only one activity fee is required per family and is refundable once you have volunteered). You may also pay the registration fees on the CF Community Ed website.

Monday Night Metro starts Monday, Dec. 4th. The program, which is open to neighboring communities, will be held 6:30 to 8 p.m. and will be coached by Gopher wrestler, Gannon Volk.   This is an optional practice for the Mat Rats that are looking for more practices during the week.

The season will conclude at the beginning of March. Please attend as many practices as you are able, and parental involvement is encouraged. All tournaments are optional; participation is at each family’s discretion.
